Light the Bay Preschool offers classes for students ages two years through Pre-kindergarten.

On average, 2 year-old classrooms host a 1:6 student to teacher ratio and other classes host a 1:12 student to teacher ratio. Our goal is to provide intimate classroom settings where your child can feel seen, protected and encouraged to learn.

Each classroom is supplied with a wide variety of materials and activities to ensure the development of the whole child. This is based upon the key developmental milestones of children ages two to five years old.

Light the Bay Preschool uses the Abeka Curriculum to teach our students.

This curriculum provides a traditional approach to teaching and learning as well as cross-subject integration and plenty of hands-on activities.

We have found that this program has successfully provided a good foundation of phonics for our students, subsequently developing a bridge for reading, math and character building skills.

Through the Abeka Curriculum, our younger students focus on developing social and motor skills, growing their independence and completing daily activities. 

Older students are provided a more broadened learning experience which includes an introduction to phonetics, writing, and number skills.

The staff at Light the Bay Preschool are highly qualified and work as a team to meet the needs of each of its students based on their God-given uniqueness and needs.

Each staff member is CPR certified, meet all of the State of California requirements for education and are mandated to California criminal record fingerprint clearance with the Department of Justice and a child abuse index search prior to employment.
